Understanding highlights
StreamHero automatically identifies and clips the best moments from your streams. Here's everything you need to know about how highlights work.
Highlight types
Highlights
Highlights are the confirmed best moments in your stream. They're automatically clipped and processed into shareable video files.
Each highlight includes:
- Start and end timestamp
- A description of what happened
- A rarity tier (Common, Rare, or Epic)
- Processing status (pending → processing → completed)
Potential moments
Potential moments are segments that scored above average but didn't make the highlight cut. They're useful for manual review — you might spot clips the AI under-scored.
Rarity tiers
| Tier | Description | |------|-------------| | Common | Solid clip worth keeping. Good chat engagement or audio energy. | | Rare | Above-average moment. Strong spike in one or more signals. | | Epic | Once-per-stream event. These are the clips most likely to go viral. |
Plan limits
| Plan | Highlights | Potential moments | |------|-----------|-------------------| | Free | 3 | 4 | | Pro | All | All | | Premium | All | All |

Video processing
After detection, each highlight goes through our video processing pipeline on Google Cloud Run. This typically completes within a few minutes of your analysis finishing.
When a clip is ready, you'll see a Download button appear in the Clips tab.
Tips for better highlights
- Narrate your reactions — Audio energy is a strong signal. Reacting out loud to big moments helps the AI find them.
- Stream longer sessions — More content means more opportunities for Epic moments.
- Engage with chat — Chat spike patterns are one of the most reliable highlight signals.
